What Does the following CTCA Scan Indicate?

G day - Just got results of CTCA scan. Ca is 11; mildly dilated aortic root, at 40mm. I am a 61 year old male, some familial history of vascular disease. Work out fairly hard, last Chol reading 5.8 (previous 5.1). Interested in what the mildly dilated aorta means.

The upper limit of width of the aorta is 40 mm. Your report suggests you are at a borderline level. This may be due to hypertension or the familial vascular disease you mentioned.
In my practice, I would ask for you to have your blood pressure checked and if normal with no new symptoms, review the size of the aorta in 6 months.
